Maintenance Planner & RAG Fleet Compliance System

This course provides an in-depth understanding of fleet compliance management using the 1‑2‑3 Maintenance Planner System integrated with a Red-Amber-Green (RAG) risk framework. It equips Transport Managers, fleet supervisors, and operational staff with the knowledge, tools, and practical workflows necessary to maintain vehicle safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the full ISO calendar year.

Participants will learn to interpret weekly vehicle inspections, PMIs, MOT checks, and defect reporting to determine whether the fleet is operating under Green (fully compliant), Amber (minor operational or compliance issues), or Red (serious failures requiring immediate intervention). The course also details how to respond to each status, implement corrective actions, and conduct structured audits, including intensive six-week cycles to recover compliance.

Through a combination of step-by-step procedures, case studies, and flowcharts, learners will understand the consequences of failing to maintain compliance, including vehicle prohibitions, MOT failures, regulatory inquiries, and operational disruption. They will also develop confidence in applying a structured weekly and six-weekly audit cycle, managing risk before it escalates, and maintaining clear, chronological documentation for internal and regulatory review.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Execute the 1‑2‑3 weekly compliance workflow effectively.
• Identify and categorise issues as Green, Amber, or Red, and respond appropriately.
• Conduct audits and recovery audits efficiently to maintain continuous Green status.
• Understand the regulatory consequences of non-compliance, including DVSA prohibitions and preliminary hearings.
• Apply best practice maintenance planning, defect tracking, and record-keeping to ensure fleet safety and operational continuity.
